I switch schedules every three months at work, so my training plans for 2009 are broken up for every three months. Also, I bicycle commute 16 miles each way to work four times a week, so that’s another constraint on my training schedule. Finally, I like to throw in weightlifting three times per week, something a lot of triathletes don’t do, so my training schedule might look a little strange for most triathletes.
During the week prior to a triathlon (see my 2009 Schedule of Events for a list) I will take it easy, not bike commute to work, and do one or two tapering runs, bikes and swims so I am somewhat fresh for the event.
